FIFA 19 Ratings Refresh, FUT 19 Winter Upgrades

This year's FIFA 19 Ratings Refresh is now officially underway! The first set of FUT 19 Winter Upgrades has been applied to Premier League players. We will update each new league below as and when they are confirmed. Learn more about FIFA 19 Ratings Refresh below.

As part of this year's FIFA 19 Winter Refresh promotion, a number of Ultimate Team cards will receive updated ratings and in-game stats in order to better reflect their current real life form. If a player is included in FUT 19 Ratings Refresh, their new card will replace any existing version in packs.

Any original non-in-form versions of these players currently in your club or on the FUT transfer market will remain the same. The only way to obtain one of these new FIFA 19 Winter Upgrades is to either find one in a pack, or purchase them via the FUT transfer market within Ultimate Team.

If any of the following players have applicable in-form versions, i. e. if their new rating matches or overlaps an existing in-form, they will be updated appropriately. However, it is important to note that upgrades for existing versions can sometimes take a number of hours to update in-game.

Exceptions will be made for lower rated in-form items, furthermore, FIFA 19 Ultimate Scream cards will not be affected. UCL base items will follow the same rules as regular in-forms. Below we will update every squad of FUT 19 Winter Upgrades for each appropriate league once they are officially revealed.

As we alluded to above, there are a few additional things to bear in mind when choosing your wide players in FIFA 19, with slightly different factors becoming more or less important depending on the mode and formation you're playing.

For Career Mode, potential is important too - Some players have higher built-in potential for growth than others, and if you're planning on playing at least two seasons of Career Mode then it's going to have a major impact on your squad. It's also a great way to pick up a bargain, too, so if you're keen on finding some youngsters take the time to go over our detailed list of the best FIFA 19 potential wonderkids and young players, whcih includes some of the finest young wide players in the game. For Ultimate Team, remember you can use Chemistry Styles - Chemistry Styles, if you didn't know, add up to a whopping 90 points to your player's attributes, spread according to the Style you choose. You can read more on Chemistry in general in our guide to how FIFA Chemistry works, and likewise the best FIFA 19 Chemistry Styles in our detailed guide to those, too. Think about your style of play when looking at stats - We mentioned this briefly above, but certain wingers will work better in certain formations and styles. Pace in general is obviously extra-useful if you play a more direct, counter-attacking style, whilst you might want to focus more on Crossing, Short Passing, and even Tackling if you're using more central or reserved LMs and RMs.

Who are the best FIFA 19 Serie A m >

Many of the FIFA 19 Ultimate Team formations require some midfielders that have a natural aptitude to defend. Central defensive midfielders distinguish themselves for being especially aimed to help the more retreated line of their teams. According to their attributes and their work rates, they can also be useful for starting attacks. They are players that occupy a very strategic position in the field.

World’s Champion Matuidi is by far the most popular defensive midfielder.

There are a variety of attributes in a central defensive midfielder that you have to give attention: defending, so that the first defender of team works; strength, so that you win all brawls in a prone area of the field; heading, to win possession in aerial moves like goal kicks; pace, so that you cover the most terrain on the field as possible; stamina, so they can equally participate in offensive and defensive moves (especially useful for players with high/high work rates); passing and possession so that he can properly start attacks. In our opinion the two first are the most important.

Normally using a central defensive midfielder is associated with having a deficit of elements in your defence. So, it makes sense that when you search for a player to occupy this position you’d want players that can defend.

De Rossi and Matuidi are the ones who defend better.

The area of the field occupied by the central defensive midfielders is the one where most ball disputes happen. Strong players will have a higher probability of winning the ball.

Again, Matuidi and De Rossi are among the best on this side.

Matuidi is undoubtedly the best player for this position. Serie A fans should be happy to see a player of this class playing in Italy. There is no other CDM as fast as he is which makes him even more special.

If you don’t have enough coins to buy him, you can try to sign the old good Daniele De Rossi or Marco Parolo.

Best FIFA 19 Serie A Defensive Midfielders

A lot of games are decided in the midfield and not close to the goals. The players that play in these zones are the ones that should create the game and define its rhythm.

It’s in midfield that there’s more quality in the Serie A. Some of the world’s best footballers play there. It’s the case of Hamšík, Pjanić, Milinković-Savić and Nainggolan.

Centre midfielders are responsible for discovering lines that break the opponents defence. Their passing quality has to be really good so they can assist forwards.

Even though Hamšík has a great passing stat, Miralem Pjanić is the one who does it better.

A Centre midfielder usually needs creativity. Good dribbling allows the team to move forward, creating potential disequilibrium’s.

Once again, Miralem Pjanić is the centre midfielder with best dribbling stat in the Serie A.

Nainggolan is our favourite centre midfield from Serie A. He can play in any position of the midfield. He knows how to attack and how to defend. Who doesn’t like to play with high stamina and high/high work rates players? The only problem is his price. As alternative to him, if you want a CM to play as a CDM, we suggest you Allan. Khedira and Emre Can can also play that role.

In other hand, if you need someone more attacking, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Marek Hamšik are perfect. Pjanic has better passing and dribbling stats but he is not as good in the other attributes.

Best FIFA 19 Serie A Centre Midfielders

An attacking centre midfielder is responsible for creating chances to score. He should have a good dribbling, a decent passing, a high long shot stat and a great vision.

No other CAM can be compared to Paulo Dybala in this league.

How we explained, the central attacking midfielders need to have good passing stats, so they can assist forwards.

Valero is usually the CAM with best passing stat in Italy but this year he was caught on the top by Dybala.

If a CAM is a good dribbler, he can make all the difference when the team is attacking.

In the world, only Messi, Neymar, Hazard and Isco have better dribbling stats than Dybala.

Try to avoid all other CAMs and pick a CM to play in this position.

Cuadrado should be your first option for this position if you are building a Serie A squad. He’s fast, has an amazing dribbling and he is a 5-stars skiller.

Most of the community uses José Callejón as alternative to Cuadrado but, in our opinion, Simone Verdi is better than him. And cheaper too…

Best FIFA 19 Serie A Left Wingers

Insigne and Douglas Costa are the two left wingers with the best dribbling stat.

In this FIFA 19 guide we detail the best young FIFA 19 ST, CF, RW, LW, best young FIFA 19 CB, LB, RB, best young FIFA 19 GK, and best young FIFA 19 CM, CDM, CAM, LM, RM in FIFA 19 Career Mode.

Strikers and Wingers are key to attacking in FIFA 19. In this guide to the best young strikers in FIFA 19 and the best young wingers in FIFA 19 we'll detail the best you can buy for your squad in FIFA 19 Career Mode. Read on for FIFA 19's best young ST, RW, LW players with highest potential, and their respective stats and attributes.

We’ve gathered the best young ST, LW and RW FIFA 19 players in the list below. Keep a look out for high pace stats, plus strength and shooting. Height can also be a key attribute depending on how you play.

Oyarzabal Malcom Mbappé, Kylian Rashford, Marcus

League Club Name Age Position Approx Potential OVR Approx Growth
Spain Primera Division (1) RC Celta Mor, Emre 21 LW 85 74 11
Italy Serie A (1) AS Roma Kluivert, Justin 19 LW 86 75 11
England EFL Championship (2) Wolverhampton Wanderers Diogo Jota 21 LW 86 78 8
Spain Primera Division (1) Real Sociedad Oyarzabal 21 LW 86 80 6

In terms of young left wingers, you should go for Justin Kluivert. He has high potential and real room for growth. For a cheap bet, go for Jota Diego. LW players can contribute greatly to your team's goal tally, so don't cheap out on players who occupy this position.

League Club Name Age Position Approx Potential OVR Approx Growth
Holland Eredivisie (1) Vitesse Ødegaard, Martin 19 RW 86 74 12
Spain Primera Division (1) FC Barcelona Malcom 21 RW 87 83 4

Malcom should definitely be on your radar, given how high his ratings can climb. He'll be expensive though, so make sure you bring your transfer negotiation A-game. Keep a look out for players who can switch sides and who are comfortable playing in the middle. This versatility is a great attribute to have in a squad in FIFA 19.

League Club Name Age Position Approx Potential OVR Approx Growth
Portugal Liga NOS (1) FC Porto Rui Pedro 20 ST 85 72 13
England Premier League (1) Swansea City Abraham, Tammy 20 ST 86 74 12
England Premier League (1) Leicester City Iheanacho, Kelechi 21 ST 86 75 11
Holland Eredivisie (1) Ajax Dolberg, Kasper 20 ST 88 76 12
Germany 1. Bundesliga (1) FC Schalke 04 Embolo, Breel 21 ST 88 76 12
Italy Serie A (1) Inter Milan Martínez, Lautaro 21 ST 88 79 9
England Premier League (1) Manchester City Gabriel Jesus 21 ST 92 81 11
England Premier League (1) Manchester United Rashford, Marcus 20 ST 88 81 7
France Ligue 1 (1) PSG Mbappé, Kylian 18 ST 94 87 7

For Strikers, we'd go for Jesus. He has one of the highest potential ratings in the game, and starts at a solid 81 rating. Strikers are the superstars of world football, and as such tend to go for silly money in FIFA 19's transfer window. It's worth investing as much as you can, here though, as if you want goals a great striker is essential.

The Potential values listed above are approximations based on last year’s figures and in-game stats. Once more info on each player is released, we’ll update the potential ratings for each player.

LWB и RWB .

LCB, RCB .

LAM, RAM, CAM .

LM, RM и RCM, LCM .

LWB и RWB . LW, RF и LS, RS . Once again, AC Milan and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is the best young shot-stopper in the game, reflecting his real-life status where he won Goal's NxGn in 2017 and finished as runner-up in 2018. Donnarumma's price in FIFA 19 will probably scare off many potential suitors, but he is the only young goalkeeper who ends up with a rating over 90.

Andriy Lunin starts Career Mode on loan from Real Madrid, so is not an option in the first transfer window, but value can be had if you look to Bayern Munich's Christian Fruchtl or Benfica's Mile Svilar, who impressed last season against Manchester United in the Europa League despite conceding an own goal.

Those two will probably not get into your team straight away, with the vast majority of talented young goalkeepers having ratings less than 70 at the start of the game.

Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt is one of the most in-demand defenders in world football, but is surprisingly affordable in FIFA 19 - if you have that budget that is! He has a current rating of 80, meaning he's probably good enough to be a starter at most clubs before getting better and better each season.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's breakthrough season at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp has earned him the prize of the best young full-back in FIFA 19. It's not quite a trophy, but with an opening value of just over £12 million, you may be able to tempt him away from Anfield to win silverware elsewhere.

Wales international Ethan Ampadu is a versatile defender, having already played for his country in midfield, and is available relatively cheaply at the start of the game. If you can sign him in the first transfer window, you'll be greatly rewarded as he develops into a brilliant talent on and off the ball.

Bundesliga duo Leon Bailey and Christian Pulisic are well known around the world already and their values in FIFA 19 reflect this. They're both first-team ready at the start of the game, just like Bailey's team-mate Kai Havertz, who is the perfect young player to support the attack through the middle.

Manchester City's Phil Foden is available for half the price of the German-based players, and with excellent ball control and passing, he can be a midfield anchor for many years. Most of the midfielders have multiple positions, with attacking midfielder Takefusa Kubo capable of playing anywhere across midfield or even in attack. He's a very affordable option as he starts the game on loan at J-League club Yokohama F Marinos. Oh, and he's also nicknamed the 'Japanese Messi'. Who wouldn't want him in their team?

Aside from Kubo, there are number of talented 17-year-olds available at reasonable prices, but they will need plenty of game time to reach their potential. Luckily you can train them in FIFA 19 or even better, give them game time.

It's no surprise that Kylian Mbappe is the highest rated young player in FIFA 19 as well as the teenager with the highest potential. The PSG superstar starts off at 87 rated but can reach as high as 95 - which is better than both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's current ratings!

Unfortunately signing Mbappe is all but impossible for the vast majority of clubs, so you will likely have to look elsewhere to find your talismanic frontman. Hamburg teenager Jann-Fiete Arp can become an 88-rated striker while Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi is a brilliant young winger who can also play through the middle.

Two young Americans who start off relatively cheap and low-rated are PSG's Timothy Weah and Werder Bremen's Josh Sargent, but both can become an unstoppable force by the time the 2026 World Cup in North America rolls around.

Having great wingers in your team is a great way to strengthen your attack. Lot of managers prefer to develop a player rather than buy one, so we created the following list. FIFA 19 Winger Wonderk >

Left Winger for Rangers, H/L work rates means he’s unlikely to prov >

McDonald also plays in the Scottish Premiership but is a Right M >

Schalke’s Moroccan Right Winger is already rated 78 but has the potential to hit 85. His other big selling point is his ability to perform 5 star skill moves.

A right footed Left M >

Another inverted winger on our FIFA 19 Winger Wonderkids list, he plays RW for Bologna. Just like Olmo he has Four stars for both attributes and 85 potential. His starting overall is 73.

Bournemouth’s left footed Right M >

A ‘natural’ Right Midfielder, playing for Racing Club de Avellaneda. 72 rated, but he’s only 20 years old so has plenty of time to hit that 85 potential.

You might recognise the name if you’ve been hunting wonderkids in previous editions of FIFA. Inverted LW with 4* weak foot and skill moves. 85 potential but currently only 71 overall.

Another Bologna player on our FIFA 19 Winger Wonderk >

The Monaco Right Midfielder isn’t super hard working but has Four stars for skill moves and weak foot. Also 70 overall with 85 potential.

Disappointing work rates but he can play on either wing. Currently 69 overall but could reach 85 eventually.

Currently on loan at Excelsior from Tottenham. Should have improved upon his 66 rating by then, but the left footed RM has 85 potential.

A natural Right Winger and has a better weak foot than Edwards. They’re tied with 85 potential but Nelson only has 65 overall.

United’s inverted RW is rated 65 overall but can claim a first team spot if he reaches his 85 potential. His contract runs out in 2019 so he might be elsewhere by then.

Right footed Left Winger, also with only a year to run on his contract. Arsenal won’t want to lose the 18 year old, only rated 63 now but has 85 potential.

The 79 rated Nice winger is a little more established than some of the others on our FIFA 19 Winger Wonderkids list. Low defensive work rate is a downside for a RW but double four stars and 86 potential is promising.

Sporting Lisbon’s Right M >

The 21 year old Ukranian is already rated 79 but has an impressive 86 potential. He’s a Right M >

78 rated now but the inverted LW could reach as high as 86 eventually. Four star skill moves and weak foot, and also has H/H work rates.

The PSV Left Winger is also right footed, rated 78 and has 86 potential. Disappointingly his work rates and weak foot aren’t as good.

The Left Midfielder has Five star weak foot so it doesn’t really matter that he is naturally right footed. He’s arguably underrated at 78 but his 86 potentially is reassuring.

On loan at Galatasaray from Everton, so you won’t be able to buy the Left Midfielder for the first season. His 76 rating is decent enough but he should be exceptional if he reaches his 86 potential.

The highly-rated Dutchman is already rated 75 but has 86 potential and four stars for both attributes. The Left Winger has only just joined Roma so his contract doesn’t expire until 2023.

The best way to describe Kalu is as a very pacey Right Midfielder. Buy him from Bordeaux while he’s rated 74 and reap the rewards when he hits his 86 potential.

Not quite as pacey as Kalu, but quick enough and has Four star skill moves. A natural RM but can also play on the left, he’s rated 74 but has 86 potential.

Also a Right Midfielder who can also play on the left. Torres has 86 potential but has great finishing ability for a 73 rated winger.

The Leverkusen RM is only rated 71 but should hit 86 within a few years. Four star skill moves is a bonus but his five year contract means he’s unlikely to be cheap.

The Manchester City youngster has an impressive potential of 86, despite only being rated 69 overall. He’s a right footed Left Winger but has five star weak foot ability.

Dabo is a great investment for a future LM. None of his stats particularly stand out while he’s rated 62 overall but that could change by the time he reaches his 86 potential.

Not a huge amount of growth potential in the inverted Left Midfielder as he already starts out at 83 overall. However, 87 potential is still very impressive.

The Real Sociedad man also has 87 potential but starts out at 80, so while still a readymade option, he should be more affordable. He’s a Left Winger but can also play on the right side of midfield if needed.

Just like Oyarzabal, Soler should go from 80 overall to 87 one day. He plays as a Right M >

87 potential is the reason everyone is clamouring to buy another Ajax youngster. The left footed Right Winger is already rated 79 and has five star skill moves.

The Italian is a very strong option at RW. 78 overall with 87 potential, H/H work rates and four star weak foot and skill moves.

Yet another inverted winger on our FIFA 19 Winger Wonderkids list. Naturally a RW but can play on the other wing, he’s a respectable 77 now and has the potential to reach 87.

Given he only has one star weak foot ability, Sarr is definitely an inverted winger. The 76 rated Left Midfielder is bound to be popular thanks to his 87 potential.

A great dribbler for a 75 rated winger. Plays at RM and has an impressive 87 potential.

Only 72 rated currently so might be available on the cheap. The hardworking Left Midfielder has an impressive 87 potential.

The Benfica LW has great growth potential, increasing from 71 to 87. He is right footed but can also play at CAM.

Similar to Sequeira in almost every respect but starts out at 69 overall, so might be a cheaper option.

Now into the top ten FIFA 19 Winger Wonderkids. The American Right Midfielder is comfortable on either wing, rated 79 and will likely end up one of the best wingers in the game due to his 88 potential.

Previously a left back but has since converted to a Left Winger. Effective with a 75 rating but will be incredible at 88 overall.

Won’t be available until the summer transfer window but the inverted Right Winger has a lot to offer. Already an impressive 82 but will be a superstar if he fulfils his 89 potential.

Bailey is just like Malcolm, 8289, skilful and comfortable on his weaker foot. The Left Midfielder is currently playing in the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen.

The United youngster is listed as a Left Winger but is just as effective as a striker. Currently rated 81 overall but could hit 89 overall within a few years.

Currently reaping the benefits of switching the Premier League for the Bundesliga. The 75 rated Left M >

The Argentinian LM is now playing for Atlanta United. He’s 74 overall today but has the potential to hit 89 in the future.

Another Barcelona winger that tends to keep Malcom out of the team. The Right Winger has five star weak foot ability and can already tear defences apart with his 83 rating. His 92 potential is phenomenal, how much are you willing to pay for him?

Skilful and already rated 77, he won’t be cheap – especially because of his 7 year contract. His 92 potential means he can be Dembele’s LW equal.

The top spot on our FIFA 19 Winger Wonderkids list goes to PSG’s Kylian Mbappe. An 87 rating for a 19 year old is already incredible, but his 95 potential is the highest in the game.

Be sure to check out the rest of our Wonderkid Lists.

The Italian is a very strong option at RW. 78 overall with 87 potential, H/H work rates and four star weak foot and skill moves. Similar to Sequeira in almost every respect but starts out at 69 overall, so might be a cheaper option.

FIFA 19 already looks pretty stacked and EA Sports are racking up the licences ahead of the worldwide launch.

For the first time ever, the Champions League and Europa League will be coming to the FIFA franchise.

Last month, in an official statement, both Konami and UEFA confirmed that their "very successful and fruitful" 10-year partnership would come to an end and EA wasted no time in acquiring it - meaning gamers will no longer have to make do with 'Champions Cup' next year and can lift the official trophy.

Champions League and Europa League confirmed to be in FIFA 19. Huge news! :soccer::fire: https://t. co/9dGi8Qd5Zd

- MGH (@OfficialMgh) May 11, 2018

In addition to that, it's also been officially confirmed that Borussia Dortmund's exclusive deal with Pro Evolution Soccer has been ended prematurely, giving EA the ability to bring BVB's Signal Iduna Park back into the equation for FIFA 19.

"KONAMI and Borussia Dortmund had a license agreement with respect to the use of Borussia Dortmund's logos, players, stadium and other features in KONAMI products until June 2020," read an official Konami statement.

"However this agreement was prematurely terminated by Borussia Dortmund. KONAMI will not include Borussia Dortmund's logos, players, stadium and other features in PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2019."

And in the third bit of recent licensing news, Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, via Calcio Finanza, are saying EA have been able to obtain the official license for Serie A, Serie B and Coppa Italia after a couple of years without it.

Image: EA Sports

The Italian top flight was previously called 'Calcio A' on FIFA 18 and FIFA 17 but did contain all the licensed teams, players and kits in the two Italian leagues.

But through acquiring the full rights, match graphics, official branding and other features will put Serie A on par with La Liga, the Premier League and Bundesliga in terms of realism when September rolls around.

While PES have obtained rights for minor leagues such as the Belgian league, SPFL and Russian Premier League, they've been hit with a series of big blows and are losing even further ground on their football gaming rivals

Can't believe Dortmund fucking terminated the PES rights after seeing their direction :joy::joy: With Dortmund coming back, UCL, UEL and Serie A rights coming to FIFA 19, PES are losing alot of ground.
