Right, lets get the obvious thing out of the way. Once you’ve found yourself a decent youth prospect, go into their menu and sign the player. They’ll automatically be added to your youth academy and be on a (usually insignificant) weekly wage of £425.
This is the stage where things become a bit clearer in the youth scouting process. Although a player’s position might have become apparent if you allowed him to be scouted over a few months, in most cases you’ll have snapped him up quickly without finding out his primary position. Either way, once you’ve recruited a player to your youth academy, you’ll know exactly which position they play.
My advice with this is not to obsess about the position that is listed on a player’s bio. Taking a look at their player type and attributes will always be the best way to determine where a player should be playing.
Another key piece of information that will now be available to you as it’s going to directly impact whether you’ll promote this player or not. This is especially true if you’re operating with a small squad or going through an injury crisis. Whether you promote a player from the youth academy will largely depend on the level of your team, a 65 rated youngster is much more useful to a lower level club. Players with a lower rating should be tolerated if they are still young (more time to grow) or if you could train them enough to improve them.
This is really what you’ll be looking for, unfortunately it will still be represented by a range. Over time this will change, you’ll receive an update at the start of each month stating that you now have more information on the players in your youth academy. Each time this happens, the range that is used to represent a player’s potential will shrink, making the range a little more accurate.
Obviously you’ll be hoping that only the bottom end of the range gets shaved off, rather than the top. If this isn’t the case, you can of course do the save and reload trick – potential doesn’t seem to be a fixed value, but the range seems to be dec >
After a number of months, the potential range will be much smaller and eventually there will only be six points in difference between the minimum and maximum numbers. By this time you should have a good idea if you’re going to promote the player or not.
Once a player joins your academy, their player type will be confirmed, if it wasn’t already. This will be really important to you if you’re aiming for a player of a specific type or position. I’ve already mentioned this but player type tends to affect a player’s stats more than anything else.

My tip to you guys would be to keep a good balance of ages in your youth academy. Plenty of people encounter a problem where their academy is full of 15 year olds they don’t want to lose but can’t promote. This is a problem when you hit the 16 player limit in the academy and can’t sign anymore players. I’ve been in this situation several times, it’s painful to miss out on an exciting prospect.
Another problem worth mentioning around player age is players demanding to be promoted. Unsurprisingly, this is much more common with 17 and 18 year old players. When this happens, you’ll receive an email to let you know. At this point you’ve got 7 days to offer them a professional contract or they’ll quit your academy and you’ll never see them again.
When training was first introduced to career mode, not everybody realised that you could also train your youth players. This was because they’re below your senior squad players so don’t always get seen.
First of all I want to share one tip with you, this menu is useful for assessing players. Players with ‘high growth potential’ will have a green upwards graph line symbol on their tile. Don’t base everything on this but it’s a good final confirmation if you’re unsure about a player.
I wanted to cover training more in a later section but I get asked about it a lot. In my opinion, you shouldn’t train your players while they are in the academy. First of all, you might not even keep a player, so potentially wasting a training session on them is risky. Secondly, and more importantly, it’s seems to be better to let youth players develop naturally for a few years. Doing a lot of training seems to take up their ‘growth points’, and as a result stunts the growth of their physical stats – read more about that here.
Once a player has joined your youth academy, you’ll have a definitive > Age is an important cons > Use the training screen as a final check for high growth players but don’t bother training them yet.

No, they will still grow if you don’t train. Just that training doesn’t effect the untrainable attributes like composure.

Not really, it did used to slow down growth of untrainable attributes like Strength/ Sprint Speed, but in FIFA19 these are now trainable.

Yes, it can be other positions. But these are the most common positions.
I have another tip for you, the player value will be based on their current overall, if it is 1,000,000+ you dont even need to scout him further, just sign him because his ovr will be 60+ with high potential 85+

That’s correct. Value is based on Overall. I’ve done a video in that very topic. However, I’ve had a £2.6M 68 Overall GK and he was only an Exciting Prospect 😡😂

Personally I would rather have a search system like PES 2019 and without all this bloody scouting crap and have a ready made youth team I can plunder. Just fill an age type and transfer status (I. e. free or other) and make my bids. Oh and when scouting in Asia, the youth team look awfully European.

Another good thing to do is Take control of a national team Scout players from that nation Sign them to your Youth Academy "National Squad Selection" and search for the players in your academy This way you can look at all their stats, work rates, skills, weak foot ability, traits etc without signing them to your first team squad and finding out they have low work rates and 1 star skill moves. Also this gives you the opportunity to just put a load of 15-16 year olds into the national team starting 11 as you don't really care about the teams results, so you could even play games to see how the players are

How do I ensure I sign players with great stamina or how do I train their stamina? Stamina and speed are the most critical things in players I sign or nurture. Any suggestion on this?

One of the running ones does it, cant remember but I think its a bronze level, easy to do. CAMs almost NEVER have decent stamina. Its the worst position at finding ones that have any. Other than that its a bit of a crap shoot

+Yekouri exactly. take a small club, invest in scouts, scout for GKs, train keep the best n sell the others. My stater now (2022/2023 season w Plymouth) is 21YO and is a 94
They're the easiet to train. Just train them and they will become 94+

I usually search brazil, Argentina, italy and spain and been getting 93+ players with good work rates like high medium or high high and good weak foot/skill moves. another tip for me train a player that you want him to become good in for example you have a player that has 94 potential and only has good technical traits train his physical to level him up 3x or 4x then loan him for a 2 year contract he will come back with amazing technical and physical stats this works for anything you really want. if you dont the player will only improve his base stats, to branch it out you need to train his other stats and level him up before he hits 81 or 82. and do not over train your youth players they will get injuriy prone and he will be a waste of time even if hes 94 already he wont perform like one in sim matches. stop training players when they hit 80s let them level up naturally send them on loans and watch them grow if they dont do good on loans then you over trained your player

Try Finland and Slovenia. Im going to put a lengthy post on here, but trust me. I have tried those bigger name countries but nowhere comes close to Finland and Slovenia. Its like EA secretly juiced them. My starters are loaded with 18-21 year old players ranging from 80-94 from those 2 countries.

Another few countries worth scouting are Japan and Korea I found two goal keepers from there both up to mid 70s in two seasons and growing well and I have some gems in midfield one is now 82 and has grown +15 in last season and doesn't seem to be slowing down at this rate could make 90+ within the next season

Youth academy wingers always have very low pace, which leads me to just release them no matter how good they are. Can anyone tell me how I can get wingers with high pace from youth scouting?

Fifa really needs to sort this youth academy shit out. it's horrible. there's 80 rated cbs that are faster than real life wingers. . . id also like to see an under 23 squad you can put them in n then get stats on their assists, goals, blah blah through out their season(s) there. unrealistic to expect to play them in the first squad 10 matches a season or whatever.

I think EA should add a separate youth academy training instead of having your actual team and your youth academy team train in one session because it unrealistic because youth in real life have their own training and I have real players with high potentials that need training. Or maybe even just add more than five slots Also just subbed

Go to Slovenia, you'll thank me. My starter is 21 and a 94, I have had to sell 2 others because they wanted crucial roles (and made bank), one starts for Man U and the other for Dortmund now. Both are around 90. (I manage Cote D'Ivoire so my back up is one I scouted there. Hes 18 or 19 and he's 84 RN - and happily signed as sporadic. ) ALWAYS actively train your keepers: you can get As easily on the hard 1vs1 one and kicking drill. They level up FAST

Sadly there is no stat, that can predict the Weak Foot / Skill Moves. They are randomly generated.

Scouting is easy as cake. The value number is a dead giveaway when scouting new young players. If they are 15-16 with over $250,000 value they are guaranteed to be at least 84 overall potential. If its over $500,000 then you my friend have found yourself a wonderkid 90+ potential. It becomes tricky if the player is already 17 when your scout first reports him to you and i havent done any significant testing yet so ill be back with that later but for now it seems that a prospect who is 17 or older’s value rating has no impact on their potential due to age where as 15-16 year olds are still raw and their initial value is key in scouting them properly before signing them.
When you reload your save player cant go from exiting prospect to has potential to be special?
When you reload, it changes the whole pool of players in that report, none of the players are the same. But you could end up getting better players when you reload. But for the player reload it is just to ensure they keep their higher range of potential, so technically yes, they could have 70-94 pot, you promote them and they are only exciting prospect. Then you reload and they could inherit the Higher potential of 94 and be potential to be special (90+ potential).
I scouted a French CB at 65 ovr, in one season he is now 78. Keep in mind he’s 6’6 fast as hell and strong as hell. Legend.

The one that show at the club since, don’t release them yet keep them in the youth academy cuz their stats will change, I would say only release players if youth academy is full and u need space to sign a better player or if he is threatening to leave and u don’t want him yet

There are more positions you can find in each player type. Added these would be helpful. IE, LB and RB attackers, probably the best type for wing backs in the game. Also technically gifted Strikers are worth a go 👍

You should choose the players by looking at the value. Sign any player with value of 500k and above and completely remove the rest of the player below it. The reason for this is because, even if the current rating is 60 and above, a player with value below 500k have lesser stats for anything other than 6 stats that determined the rating of said player. Even if the potential value is lower than 80, a 500k value player can be use as a swap bargain to buy players or sell them for easy cash. From what I foresee when looking at youth players, a rating of 60 with a value below 500k for position other than CM and CDM, their stamina is too low to be used and it required a lot more training. Stamina as we all know is a bronze training hence it will take almost a full season just to get a player to 70 stamina if you actually take those player with low value. This also reflect to other position, hence, to make your choice and life easier, just recruit players with value above 500k.

Guys always remember to check the value, I’d say if you only want brilliant players look for above 300.000 pounds value.
For next year i hope ea changes the youth system and at least do a u18 team with actual lineups where u need a certain amount of mids def gk and st and at least let us do more with our academy (practice games, make a youth league etc)

I agree, I tend to just let it have it's course, I get enough good players. This must just be for people that want amazing players quickly, no challenge in their career.

The youth players actually need to DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Anything at all in the academy. I need a reason why the young promising 87-92 potential 15 year old left winger from Portugal that I can’t play yet is declining in potential. He’s not playing any game at all yet he keeps dropping in potential and he’s not yet old enough for me to call him up to the first team before his potential gets worse. This is a MUST FIX.
It's not that their potential is declining, you get given an estimate of their potential so it's in this range, say 72-94 then each academy report narrows that range down meaning you get a better estimate, eventually down to say 81-87 so their potential is not declining just the estimate getting more accurate
Physically Strong is wrong. I always used to look for strikers there but you don't get them anymore. You only get Center Forwards.

Some countries have a better ratio of returning Platinum Players (PTBS) than other countries.
Havent watched the full video yet, but you should pay attention to the value of the player because there could be a guy who is 650,000 worth money and doesnt have great potential. I'd sell it if youre small club with no money

Just look the value of the player. 400.000 value will be around 61 overall. In my opinian you should promote them as soon as possible, because they get massive increase in the first team or you can put them in loan list

As for me, i prefer just leave them in the youth academy, even if their stats does not increase much, their hidden stats or stat that cannot be train does increase more than stats that can be train. We all know that some mental stats like composure, aggression, reaction and some technical stats like jumping, balance and acceleration cannot be train. So, from a lot of testing that I done, its better to leave them in the academy and just promote them when they demand to leave your academy if you did not promote them.

FIFA CareerGems no but i think players above 100 000€ have better chance of higher potential than around 70 000€. This isn’t always true but most of the times it is.

My roommate thought I was cheating bc my team is all 80 and higher (couldnt find a godo CAM w stamina so I bought Bruno Fernandes and hes 28 now) and all 21 and younger. Its bc I train every session. Where’s my penis? his potential is dropping because that’s not his confirmed potential. 87-93 means his cap potential can be anywhere in between. It dropping means that his original potential was never 93.

Not really, it did used to slow down growth of untrainable attributes like Strength/ Sprint Speed, but in FIFA19 these are now trainable.

I have another tip for you, the player value will be based on their current overall, if it is 1,000,000+ you dont even need to scout him further, just sign him because his ovr will be 60+ with high potential 85+

Personally I would rather have a search system like PES 2019 and without all this bloody scouting crap and have a ready made youth team I can plunder. Just fill an age type and transfer status (I. e. free or other) and make my bids. Oh and when scouting in Asia, the youth team look awfully European.

Another good thing to do is Take control of a national team Scout players from that nation Sign them to your Youth Academy "National Squad Selection" and search for the players in your academy This way you can look at all their stats, work rates, skills, weak foot ability, traits etc without signing them to your first team squad and finding out they have low work rates and 1 star skill moves. Also this gives you the opportunity to just put a load of 15-16 year olds into the national team starting 11 as you don't really care about the teams results, so you could even play games to see how the players are

How do I ensure I sign players with great stamina or how do I train their stamina? Stamina and speed are the most critical things in players I sign or nurture. Any suggestion on this?

One of the running ones does it, cant remember but I think its a bronze level, easy to do. CAMs almost NEVER have decent stamina. Its the worst position at finding ones that have any. Other than that its a bit of a crap shoot

They're the easiet to train. Just train them and they will become 94+

I usually search brazil, Argentina, italy and spain and been getting 93+ players with good work rates like high medium or high high and good weak foot/skill moves. another tip for me train a player that you want him to become good in for example you have a player that has 94 potential and only has good technical traits train his physical to level him up 3x or 4x then loan him for a 2 year contract he will come back with amazing technical and physical stats this works for anything you really want. if you dont the player will only improve his base stats, to branch it out you need to train his other stats and level him up before he hits 81 or 82. and do not over train your youth players they will get injuriy prone and he will be a waste of time even if hes 94 already he wont perform like one in sim matches. stop training players when they hit 80s let them level up naturally send them on loans and watch them grow if they dont do good on loans then you over trained your player

Try Finland and Slovenia. Im going to put a lengthy post on here, but trust me. I have tried those bigger name countries but nowhere comes close to Finland and Slovenia. Its like EA secretly juiced them. My starters are loaded with 18-21 year old players ranging from 80-94 from those 2 countries.

Another few countries worth scouting are Japan and Korea I found two goal keepers from there both up to mid 70s in two seasons and growing well and I have some gems in midfield one is now 82 and has grown +15 in last season and doesn't seem to be slowing down at this rate could make 90+ within the next season

Youth academy wingers always have very low pace, which leads me to just release them no matter how good they are. Can anyone tell me how I can get wingers with high pace from youth scouting?

Fifa really needs to sort this youth academy shit out. it's horrible. there's 80 rated cbs that are faster than real life wingers. . . id also like to see an under 23 squad you can put them in n then get stats on their assists, goals, blah blah through out their season(s) there. unrealistic to expect to play them in the first squad 10 matches a season or whatever.

I think EA should add a separate youth academy training instead of having your actual team and your youth academy team train in one session because it unrealistic because youth in real life have their own training and I have real players with high potentials that need training. Or maybe even just add more than five slots Also just subbed

Go to Slovenia, you'll thank me. My starter is 21 and a 94, I have had to sell 2 others because they wanted crucial roles (and made bank), one starts for Man U and the other for Dortmund now. Both are around 90. (I manage Cote D'Ivoire so my back up is one I scouted there. Hes 18 or 19 and he's 84 RN - and happily signed as sporadic. ) ALWAYS actively train your keepers: you can get As easily on the hard 1vs1 one and kicking drill. They level up FAST

Sadly there is no stat, that can predict the Weak Foot / Skill Moves. They are randomly generated.

Scouting is easy as cake. The value number is a dead giveaway when scouting new young players. If they are 15-16 with over $250,000 value they are guaranteed to be at least 84 overall potential. If its over $500,000 then you my friend have found yourself a wonderkid 90+ potential. It becomes tricky if the player is already 17 when your scout first reports him to you and i havent done any significant testing yet so ill be back with that later but for now it seems that a prospect who is 17 or older’s value rating has no impact on their potential due to age where as 15-16 year olds are still raw and their initial value is key in scouting them properly before signing them.
When you reload your save player cant go from exiting prospect to has potential to be special?
When you reload, it changes the whole pool of players in that report, none of the players are the same. But you could end up getting better players when you reload. But for the player reload it is just to ensure they keep their higher range of potential, so technically yes, they could have 70-94 pot, you promote them and they are only exciting prospect. Then you reload and they could inherit the Higher potential of 94 and be potential to be special (90+ potential).
I scouted a French CB at 65 ovr, in one season he is now 78. Keep in mind he’s 6’6 fast as hell and strong as hell. Legend.

The one that show at the club since, don’t release them yet keep them in the youth academy cuz their stats will change, I would say only release players if youth academy is full and u need space to sign a better player or if he is threatening to leave and u don’t want him yet

There are more positions you can find in each player type. Added these would be helpful. IE, LB and RB attackers, probably the best type for wing backs in the game. Also technically gifted Strikers are worth a go 👍

You should choose the players by looking at the value. Sign any player with value of 500k and above and completely remove the rest of the player below it. The reason for this is because, even if the current rating is 60 and above, a player with value below 500k have lesser stats for anything other than 6 stats that determined the rating of said player. Even if the potential value is lower than 80, a 500k value player can be use as a swap bargain to buy players or sell them for easy cash. From what I foresee when looking at youth players, a rating of 60 with a value below 500k for position other than CM and CDM, their stamina is too low to be used and it required a lot more training. Stamina as we all know is a bronze training hence it will take almost a full season just to get a player to 70 stamina if you actually take those player with low value. This also reflect to other position, hence, to make your choice and life easier, just recruit players with value above 500k.

Guys always remember to check the value, I’d say if you only want brilliant players look for above 300.000 pounds value.
For next year i hope ea changes the youth system and at least do a u18 team with actual lineups where u need a certain amount of mids def gk and st and at least let us do more with our academy (practice games, make a youth league etc)

I agree, I tend to just let it have it's course, I get enough good players. This must just be for people that want amazing players quickly, no challenge in their career.

The youth players actually need to DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Anything at all in the academy. I need a reason why the young promising 87-92 potential 15 year old left winger from Portugal that I can’t play yet is declining in potential. He’s not playing any game at all yet he keeps dropping in potential and he’s not yet old enough for me to call him up to the first team before his potential gets worse. This is a MUST FIX.
It's not that their potential is declining, you get given an estimate of their potential so it's in this range, say 72-94 then each academy report narrows that range down meaning you get a better estimate, eventually down to say 81-87 so their potential is not declining just the estimate getting more accurate
Physically Strong is wrong. I always used to look for strikers there but you don't get them anymore. You only get Center Forwards.

Havent watched the full video yet, but you should pay attention to the value of the player because there could be a guy who is 650,000 worth money and doesnt have great potential. I'd sell it if youre small club with no money

Just look the value of the player. 400.000 value will be around 61 overall. In my opinian you should promote them as soon as possible, because they get massive increase in the first team or you can put them in loan list

As for me, i prefer just leave them in the youth academy, even if their stats does not increase much, their hidden stats or stat that cannot be train does increase more than stats that can be train. We all know that some mental stats like composure, aggression, reaction and some technical stats like jumping, balance and acceleration cannot be train. So, from a lot of testing that I done, its better to leave them in the academy and just promote them when they demand to leave your academy if you did not promote them.

FIFA CareerGems no but i think players above 100 000€ have better chance of higher potential than around 70 000€. This isn’t always true but most of the times it is.

Lets take a look at everything in FIFA Career mode and determine the good the bad and the ugly and see what we can do about bringing this game mode back to where it belongs!
We should be able to scout Wales, Iceland, Jamaica, Panama, Costa Rica, India, Hungary, and Ukraine at the minimum.
I think they should start adding more middle eastern countries like UAE, Lebanon ect. at least the ones that regularly get in or challenge for the world cup.

Just a few other things on top of this great list that i'd add:1) AI Youth Scouting - if Oldham Athletic can scout high POT players who will one day become world class, why cant Barca or Ajax or Porto with some of the best academies in the world. Imo, bigger AI teams or teams who have inherently had good academies should have POT to be special or exciting prospect players popping up who can compete with my regen based teams in 2024 and onwards. Teams like Barca should not have twenty 34+ year olds t.

Im at Barca rn in a career at 2030 (just moved there this season) and they have one 94 ronaldo regen and the rest are either in the 60/low 70s young or 32+ old in the 80s. I've seen this quite frequently with other giants like Bayern in other career too.

Its based on having a licence to use certain countries and their inhabitant's names so countries like N Korea, Cuba, many African nations etc will never happen

They need to improve the countries we should be able to scout: Hungary, Costa Rica, Bosnia, Albania, Wales, Ukraine. Hell, maybe even Estonia and Latvia
+Olle 02 As I've said to many others though, its not just as simple as getting the countries IG. Sadly, EA need licenses to countries and their inhabitants' names so the country pool is out of their hands. Its down to those countries' laws and governing bodies for media and games
